Reviews:
The price tag alone--roughly half the cost of the next model on
the market--goes a long way toward recommending this Delta portable
benchtop saw. The saw itself, while not designed to hold up to the
demands of the job site, is ideal for small home shops and occasional
use. The blade-tilting and height-control knobs are up front, where
they're easily accessed. The fence locks both front and rear, which
allows for accuracy. The 13 amp motor packs decent oomph, but this
saw isn't built to continually rip 3/4-inch plywood or thick hardwoods.
The saw is, however, lightweight and conveniently portable. (Admittedly,
because it is lightweight, it does vibrate more than other saws.)
The package also includes a miter gauge, 10-inch saw blade, standard
table insert, blade wrenches, and an instruction manual. Before
buying this saw, we suggest you consider the applications you're
likely to use it for. If you're looking for a solid little saw for
occasional home projects, this Delta will suit your needs--especially
if you're going to work with softwoods, like pine and cedar. Bottom
line? This saw has definite limitations--but that depends on what
it's used for. For the home hobbyist in the market for a good, entry-level
table saw, Delta's model can be a smart buy.
